LMP2: Realteam by WRT first!
In the second class of prototypes, Realteam by WRT was celebrating his first victory with his trio Ferdinand Habsburg, Rui Andrade and Norman Nato, past the JOTA No. 38 of Will Stevens, Antonio Felix da Costa and Roberto Gonzalez thanks to the last supplies. Vector Sports took the last step of the podium.
LMGTE Pro: Corvette beats Ferrari to the wire!
On the GT side, class victory seemed to go to Ferrari on his land, AF Corse 488 GTE Evo controlling the debates with authority. But everything changed in… the penultimate round when the leading n°52 of Miguel Molina and Antonio Fuoco stopped for his final pitstop.
It was the moment chosen by her pursuer, the Chevrolet Corvette C8.R duo Nick Tandy and Tommy Milner, to slip ahead thanks to a better economy fuel. A bold strategic bet which allowed Corvette to win its first victory in WEC outside Le Mans, the first for the C8.R outside the United States.
AF Corsica contented itself with the podium with the n°52 ahead of the n°51 of James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi, victorious in a tight battle against the #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19 of Kevin Estre.
A milestone moment 💫
