The Vendée is accelerating on hydrogen. While the service dedicated to road maintenance will integrate its first 19-ton hydrogen carrier at the end of the year, the municipality of Les Sables d’Olonne has placed an order with the Portuguese manufacturer Caetano for a first hydrogen bus.
Launched in 2020, the H2.City Gold is equipped with a Toyota-designed 60 kW fuel cell, a 44 kWh battery supplied by French manufacturer Forsee Power and a 180 kW Siemens powertrain.
CaetanoBus has already delivered two similar buses to La Roche-Sur-Yon, another town in Vendée where they have been successfully put into service for almost six months.
With this new order from Les Sables-d’Olonne, the Portuguese manufacturer will therefore strengthen its commercial presence in France.
