A new architecture, a new powertrain, with a thermal V12 coupled to three electric motors, and a revolutionary gearbox: here is this Lamborghini concocted for its first electrified hypercar, expected in 2023, whose power will exceed 1000 horsepower!
It’s hardly a secret anymore: Lamborghini goes all-electric. A range transition, costing nearly 1.8 billion eurosstarted with a first model giving pride of place to hybridization.
The Italian brand lifts the veil on the technical characteristics of his future HPEV model (For High Performance Electrified Vehicle), code name ” LB744” , expected in view of his 60th birthday.
A new paradigm, born to take you beyond.
Its codename is LB744. It’s our first HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle) V12 hybrid Super Sports Car.
Here’s a first look at its technical aspects.
Stay tuned!#Lamborghini #DrivingHumansBeyond—Lamborghini (@Lamborghini) March 7, 2023
An unprecedented architecture
The Future Lamborghini presents an unprecedented configuration: the 6.5 liter V12 atmocentrally mounted, is completed with three electric motorsone of which is integrated into the new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
This is mounted transversely and placed for the first time behind the combustion engine. In what was the transmission tunnel from the countachwe find a lithium ion battery.
electric motors increase power at low revs and can alsot transform the new LB744 into a 100% electric car, thereby reducing CO2 emissions by 30 % compared to theAventador Ultimae
A new generation of electrified V12s
If Lamborghini had already ventured into the field ofhybridization with the Sian in 2019, it was only a small 25 kW electric motor to store energy in a supercapacitor.
For the “LB744” (future Aventador?), Taurus is considering the technology of theplug-in hybrid. THE 6.5 liter V12 will be the lightest, 218 kilos (17 kg less than the Aventador), and the most powerful ever produced by Lamborghini with a 825 hp cavalry at 9250 rpm (9500 rpm max).

1015 horsepower under the hood!
For the power transmission, Lamborghini keeps its trademark with the four wheel drive. In addition to the thermal V12 supplying the rear wheels, two electric motors appear on the front axle, each powering one of the front wheels.
A third electric blockplace above the gearboxcan also power the rear wheels, depending on the driving mode. In total, the power delivered by this new powertrainthermal and coupled electric motors, climbs to 1015 horsepower !
30 minute recharge
In terms of charging, Lamborghini announces that its future supercar can be powered by ordinary household alternating current. Battery recharge time? 30 minutesor barely six via the regenerative braking front wheels or directly via the V12.
Step up a gear
The adoption of a new platform resulted in the creation by Lamborghini of a new compact transmission unit, led to equip its next generation of supercars.
There new eight-speed gearbox is positioned transversely behind V12 longitudinal, in order to leave space in the tunnel for the lithium ion battery.
This technical solution, unique in the sports marketmakes it possible to contain the wheelbase and distribute their weight effectively.
