In order to present the F-150 Lightning in detail, Ford has developed an augmented reality configurator in partnership with Google.
Already presented, the Ford F-150 Lightning has met with relative success in the country of overpowered pick-ups. While waiting for the first deliveries (all production planned until 2023 has been reserved), Ford has developed an augmented reality program in partnership with Google.
baptized F-150 Lightning: Strike Anywhere, the application accessible via a QR Code (see bottom of article) makes it possible to position the electric utility in the user’s environment. And this, in order to “excite and educate” interested customers and potential customers. Because according to the blue oval brand, more than 80% of people who have made a reservation have never owned an electric vehicle and more than half have never driven a Ford.
It is therefore with big words and big names in tech (here Google) that Ford is launching a 3D configurator that allows you to tour the vehicle and discover the main features via different menus. The customization possibilities are slim (it is only possible to change the color and the version), but the graphic quality is advanced.
And like what Porsche has offered with the Taycan or Volkswagen with the ID.4, it is possible to switch to an augmented reality mode which allows you to position the 100% electric utility vehicle in front of your home or in your living room so you don’t miss a single detail.
