Zapping The Blogauto Alpine A110 test
Ford pulled the plug first with the Mustang Mach-E. After the loud cries of the first seconds, we realized that the vehicle had an audience and was selling well. Very quickly, we lent GM the desire to engage behind the blue oval. From January 2021, we ask ourselves the question of a future Corvette SUV glimpse in the background of a presentation of future GM vehicles.
Now, it seems more and more obvious that a 100% electric Corvette SUV is about to be unveiled. Several media report “internal sources” confirming that the big mammoth electric Corvette will be launched. It should arrive for MY2025, i.e. in 2024.
“Put the Stroller in the Corvette”
Using in-house “Ultium” battery technology, this Corvette SUV is expected to have a battery voltage of 800 volts (now common for high-power electric vehicles). Enough to ensure a large electric motor so as not to completely tarnish the image of the Corvette. After all, heavy, clumsy, powerful, that described the Corvette for quite some time, right?
Obviously GM will keep the (vented) secret until the very end. Stylistically, this Corvette should be inspired by the style of the C8, but puffy version. Avant, Mustang, Corvette, Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc. were synonymous with lone driver, maximum torque. From now on it will be “good father” with 2 kids and luggage. The times are changing.

to summarize
General Motors will follow Ford and produce a 100% electric SUV that will bear the Corvette brand. Lèse-majesté crime or simple marketing stunt?
Given the success of the Mustang Mach-E, GM would be crazy not to give it a shot. See you in 2024.
