Excellent offer for construction applications
The DAF XDC and XFC construction trucks share their DNA with the multi-award-winning DAF XD, XF, XG and XG⁺ New Generation truck series, winning the International Truck of the Year award two years in a row.
The XDC and XFC are offered in 2, 3 and 4 axle versions and available in single or double reduction. The XDC and XFC models are specially designed for the most demanding jobs in difficult conditions.
The DAF XDC and XFC models offer a wide approach angle of 25oh and a high ground clearance of 33 to 39 cm, depending on specifications. DAF construction trucks feature a solid design, with a sturdy 3-piece steel bumper, grille with black stripes and a steel radiator skid plate as standard. Both vehicles provide the ideal base for tippers, concrete mixers, lifting hooks and other specialist bodies.
The new standard in efficiency
Like their counterparts for on-road applications, the new generation XDC and XFC models are equipped with new PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines with outputs up to 390 kW/530 hp.
All DAF construction vehicles are fitted with a TraXon automated gearbox as standard, with a special off-road mode for optimum shifting performance in difficult terrain. Shifts are extremely fast and at high engine speeds to maintain speed in heavy or hilly terrain. In addition, the XDC and XFC offer automatic start gear selection. The new features are: “ASR Off” and “Rock Free” (without tipping) to move in slippery conditions and to facilitate rapid tipping to make it easier to extract the vehicle in extremely difficult conditions .
Simplification of the bodybuilder’s work is enhanced by great flexibility in the arrangement of chassis components, e.g. EAS (exhaust gas after-treatment system), battery box and air tanks, as well as as the availability of a wide range of power take-offs, body attachment modules and connectors.
The new standard in security
The New Generation DAF XDC and XFC models feature a large windscreen and side windows with ultra-low beltlines that earn all New Generation DAF models acclaim and thus provide optimum direct visibility. As an option, a door window is available which, together with the folding passenger seat, ensures a clear view of pedestrians and cyclists present next to the truck on the passenger side. In addition, the new “DAF Vision Dash”, contoured towards the passenger side windscreen and standard on XDC and XFC models, provides exceptional direct visibility.
For state-of-the-art indirect visibility, the New Generation DAF XD can be fitted with the DAF Digital Vision System, which replaces the main and wide-angle mirrors. The upper DAF Corner View provides maximum visibility of at least 285 degrees around the A-pillar of the cab on the passenger side.
Exterior LED lighting, standard on all XDC and XFC versions, also helps to ensure maximum safety.
The new standard in ride comfort
Exceptional driver comfort begins with excellent cab accessibility, thanks to well-positioned running boards and a steering wheel that can be placed in an upright position when the vehicle is parked. Seat and steering wheel adjustment ranges are unparalleled, as is the space available in the cabin with an exceptional storage area. The Day Cab comes standard with extended interior space. A comfortable third seat or a large refrigerator can be factory fitted as an option.
The new XDC and XFC feature the unobstructed dashboard available on the rest of the next-gen range, including all-digital dashboards. Superior ride and handling benefit from a completely redesigned front frame and new cab suspension.
Cooperation with leading bodybuilders
As demonstrated at Bauma, DAF works with leading bodybuilders to ensure maximum vehicle quality, efficiency and uptime. The optimally predetermined truck/body combinations also speed up the ordering process and the first completely assembled vehicles will thus be ready for delivery in the first quarter of 2023.
