Fiat is taking advantage of Stellantis’ technology portfolio to integrate two new vehicles into its catalog. Expected in 2022, the Fiat Ulysse and Scudo will be entitled to an electric version.
Now part of the Stellantis group, Fiat is following the mold of the group’s other brands. However, the manufacturer does not draw a line under its past since it “resuscitates” two models which had disappeared from its range. Equivalent to the Peugeot Expert or the Citroën Jumpy, the Fiat Scudo was produced between 1996 and 2016 and is coming back in the form of a new utility vehicle. It is completed by the Ulysse, a minivan version whose name had not been used since 2002 within the Fiat range.
Like their cousins, Fiat’s two new models are based on the group’s EMP2 platform. They will be available in electric and thermal versions.
The characteristics of the electric have not been announced, but we suspect that they will be similar to those of the other models offered by the group. Powered by a 136 horsepower engine, Fiat’s two new electric models should incorporate 50 and 75 kWh batteries for a range of up to 300 km.
First to be launched, the Fiat Scudo will begin its marketing at the end of the year. The Ulysses minivan will follow in early 2022.
