Fernando Alonso arrived in Formula 1 during the 2001 season with the Minardi team. He won two titles in 2005 and 2006 with Renault.
Fernando Alonso was born on July 29, 1981 in Oviedo. Currently, the Spaniard drives for the stable Alpine. It measures 1 meter 71 and his permanent F1 number is 14.
His history
It is at the age of 4 years that Fernando Alonso starts go-karting. From an early age, the Spanish driver will show his pretty steering wheel kick. He will climb the ladder of karting until 1998.
His first season in single seater takes place in the Open Nissan Telefonica championship. He then wins six wins. In 2000 he took part in the Formula 3000 with the Astromega team where he won a race at Spa Francorchamps.
He is then spotted by Flavio Briatore and becomes his manager. Alonso goes to Formula 1 in the Minardi team in 19 years old.
Briatore on his side redeem Benetton and placed Alonso as a test driver in 2002 in him promising a place of incumbent in 2003.
Alonso will build a team capable of fighting for titles in 2005 against Kimi Raikkonen and McLaren. But also in 2006 facing Michael Schumacher during the last season of the Red Baron at Ferrari.
Alonso continue to in Formula 1 until 2018 by going to McLaren in 2007 then Renault in 2008 and 2009, through Ferrari from 2010 to 2014.
His return at McLaren from 2015 to 2018 is catastrophic. He then decides to to commit in the WEC with Toyota where he won the mythical race of 24 hours of Le Mans.
The Bull of Asturias will perform his return in Formula 1 during the season 2021 with the Alpine team, with Esteban Ocon as team member.
