The American manufacturer announced a few days ago that its Class 6, 7 and 8 fuel cell Repower trucks have been certified by the Californian air quality agency CARB (California Air Resources Board). Thanks to this certification, Hyzon’s hydrogen vehicles can therefore now be marketed in California.
From diesel to hydrogen
Fruit of the HVIP program (Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck & Bus Voucher Inceptive Project), these trucks are the only ones of their kind to have obtained certification in this American state. As for the Repower program launched by Hyzon, this allows its customers to convert used diesel trucks into fuel cell vehicles.
“We are delighted to now be part of the list of CARB-certified zero-emission vehicle and technology manufacturers.“, said Craig Knight, the CEO of Hyzon Motors recently. “Our fuel cell trucks have already been successfully tested in daily operations at the Port of Long Beach. So we look forward to putting more similar vehicles into service on California roads.“
