For its last mile deliveries in the Netherlands, Heineken uses a Fuso eCanter equipped with a tank.
A clean beer? This is almost the will of the Dutch brand which is electrifying for the deliveries of its drinks in urban centers. From now on, Heineken will be touring the Netherlands with a modified Fuso eCanter.
According to the manufacturer, this is the world’s first electric mini beer tank vehicle. Because for its missions, the eCanter receives a 3,000 l tank at the rear, in order to directly supply the reserves of the restaurants of Amsterdam.
Tanks emptied before the battery
In partnership with Fastned, Heineken ensures that the Fuso eCanter is powered by green electricity. Autonomy has not been announced, but the 82.8 kWh battery should be sufficient to move the small vehicle, nearly 4 tons all the same. But this is less than the limit of 7.5 tons authorized in Amsterdam, so as not to damage the many bridges.
With their tank, the Fuso eCanters can supply 5 cafes or restaurants before having to return to the outskirts to supply themselves… with beer. And if it lightens the ecological conscience, this “greener” beer must always be consumed in moderation.
