For Olympique de Marseille, the Dries Mertens track is not one. The Marseille club has the impression of being used by the Belgian’s agents.
Bad news for supporters of theMarseille Olympicse. While the Phocaeans are waiting for reinforcements to start the new season, they can forget the Dries Mertens track. The name of the Belgian has been circulating on the Canebière for about a weekbut it’s a smokescreen that hides a hardly appreciable reality for OM.
Olympian leaders, according to Provence, have no intention of signing Mertens. The trail leading to the former Napoli player “has never been mentioned, neither near nor far”thus assures the regional daily.
OM have the wrong role
L’Equipe confirm that Mertens is absolutely not an option for President Pablo Longoria, who is managing OM’s recruitment. The Marseilles staff thus suspects a fairly classic maneuver by the Belgian’s agents, who “used a pseudo-interest from OM to raise the stakes in Italy”.
In this story, OM have the bad role, or in any case an unenviable role, that of the club which will be rejected by Mertens when he hasn’t asked for absolutely anything. In a transfer window which is therefore progressing quite little, and is for the moment summed up by the arrival of the young Le Havre defender Isaak Touré, the Marseille leaders did not need that. Because big names continue to be announced at OMand this leads to practically nothing concrete, which has a small humiliating side for Frank McCourt’s club…
Stop this zumba Mertens, really. He is not in OM’s plans, not in Tudor’s plans. At the club, the subject begins to tense as you are going to put hope in some supporters for nothing. “May he get what he wants from Naples quickly and let’s not talk about it anymore!” https://t.co/jLWzNj4Vqp
