While waiting for its arrival, the Hummer by GMC continues the stripping of its functions and today presents its astonishing WTF mode.
Unveiled in October 2020, the new electric Hummer should soon hit American roads. To make the many customers excited by the model wait, GMC reveals one by one the features of the utility.
And it’s the turn of the WTF function to be highlighted today through a video whose sole purpose is to get people talking about it. Acronym for Watts To Freedom (seriously, what were you thinking?), this system is none other than a Launch Control which allows you to record the canon times announced.
WTF is this?
Driven by three electric motors, the Hummer promises an insane power of 1,014 hp for 15,592 Nm of torque. In front of the clock, he promises a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in nearly 3.0 s. But you have to activate the WTF mode to get there after a specific procedure.
Once the mode is engaged, a martial message is displayed on the dashboard with the mention “armed”. A countdown then appears during which the pick-up sags by 2 mm and projects a series of animations on the screens, specific sounds and makes the seats vibrate in the passenger compartment.
This starting procedure is not only reserved for the high-end version that has now passed. The Hummer EV3x (three engines for 841 hp) can also benefit from it to go from 0-60 mph in 3.5 s.
