Founded by Air Liquide, Toyota and Société du Taxi Electrique Parisien (STEP), the HysetCo joint venture is accelerating in the field of hydrogen taxis. This Tuesday, January 19, the company announced the acquisition of the Parisian operator Slota. Now entirely made up of diesel vehicles, the fleet operated by Slota will gradually be replaced by Toyota Mirais. It will be directly operated by Hype.
Carried out thanks to a fundraising of more than 80 million euros, this investment will allow Hype to achieve its objectives more quickly. When Hysetco was launched in February 2019, the operator said it wanted to reach 600 hydrogen vehicles by the end of 2020.
“This operation will give us the critical size that will allow us to continue to deploy a virtuous ecosystem around hydrogen”welcomes Mathieu Gardies, founder and director of Hype taxis.
Beyond the acquisition of Slota, HysetCo will rely on this fundraising to deploy new hydrogen stations in Ile-de-France. By 2024, the group plans to operate around twenty across the territory. Enough to complete the existing network and initiate a real transformation of the profession.
