The transport, logistics and distribution professions have been in tension for several years. Indeed, the sector suffers from a strong recruitment problem and the Covid crisis has only reinforced this situation.
The Labatut group, based in the Toulouse region, is no exception to this phenomenon. Especially since the century-old company specializes in premium delivery and distribution, which require extensive and rigorous training. This is why the company joined forces last November with the association Les Déterminés. An unprecedented approach that responds to the issues, in accordance with the societal commitments and the committed CSR policy of Labatut Group.
A meeting between two leaders committed to a logic of sustainable and qualified employment
It was following an inspiring meeting with Moussa Camara, founder of the association, that Jennifer Labatut-Darbas, President of Labatut Group, decided to mobilize Les Déterminés for the training and recruitment of 30 delivery drivers. Founded in 2015, the association Les Déterminés promotes entrepreneurship for all, in the priority neighborhoods of the city and in rural areas by offering a complete and free support program with tools and expert advice. The goal? Overcome the difficulties encountered such as lack of network, lack of qualification, age or mobility.
In order to remedy this situation, Labatut Group and Les Déterminés are setting up a dedicated system and co-constructing a concrete integration path. The program, which encompasses vocational training, awareness of corporate skills and entrepreneurial education, aims to recruit 30 delivery drivers in the Paris region by the Labatut Group. The support provided by members of the association Les Déterminés is set up in the municipalities of Bonneuil-sur-Marne (94) and Pantin (93).
“Together, we will enable young people from priority neighborhoods in the city and rural areas to get started in the best possible conditions, with complete and tailor-made support. This program, supported by Les Déterminés and Labatut, is made possible thanks to the complementarity of our actions. It is a source of pride for us to work alongside the Labatut group, sensitive to the aspects of inclusion and equal opportunity.” Moussa Camara, president and founder of the Association Les Déterminés.
A logic of sustainable and qualified employment
The program began in November 2021 with a stage of identification and sourcing in the territories concerned: Bonneuil-sur-Marne and Pantin. After a selection phase, the 30 participants are made aware of professional posture and company skills for three weeks. Then, they validate their professional orientation thanks to a period of immersion in the company. This is followed by a six-week apprenticeship. This rigorous and complete training, which includes life skills and know-how, is essential for the company which is positioning itself on the premium delivery market. A complex and demanding sector that requires great professionalism.
In March 2022, the program will come to an end and the 30 beneficiaries will be able to be hired within the group as delivery drivers. Some will have the opportunity to become an intrapreneur and the Labatut group, in addition to being their first client, will support them in all their steps. Jennifer Labatut-Darbas will play an important mentoring and advisory role.
“I chose to work with Moussa Camara because we have the same vision of things. He is a very committed entrepreneur. Integration and inclusion in the professional environment are two values that we share. I believe that equal opportunity should be respected and encouraged, and it is the role of a company to ensure that this is the case..” testifies Jennifer Labatut Darbas, Group President “Our ambition is to grow these 30 professionals within our company and to give them the confidence and the keys to progress in their work..” she adds.
Attached to strong societal and environmental values, the company has been carrying out concrete actions in this direction for several years. With this partnership, the group is once again strengthening its commitments. The recruitment of 30 delivery drivers in the Paris region is only a first step in the recruitment process initiated by Labatut Group. With the strong development of the group, the company wishes to continue and increase hiring in the years to come.
