MAN Service Partner in Charente-Maritime and distributor of MAN vehicles and spare parts in Deux-Sèvres, Vendée and Vienne under the Nego Trucks and NegoLoc brands, the Phelippeau group opened a new MAN workshop in Val- de-Vignes (16250).
“We set up in Charente at the request of MAN. The objective is to develop its brand in the department. For this, we offer the TGX for cereal and wine-growing activities and the TGS for construction, concrete and tippers, explains Mathieu Phélippeau, president of Truck 16. We are also approved for TGE and eTGE LCVs. And we treat all IVs with diesel or B100. »
MAN Truck 16: 500 engine entries in 8 months
Built on the RN10 between Barbezieux and Angoulême, the workshop reaches 1,100 m2. It includes two pits, a braking bench, lifting columns and a light commercial vehicle bay. The service is provided by three mechanics, a workshop foreman and a manager of the spare parts store. In eight months, he recorded 500 engine entries.

“We relied on the repairs of the many passing heavy goods vehicles, the availability of space and our skills, explains Mathieu Phelippeau. By keeping 100% of our service commitments, we have won a customer base of 70% multi-brand carriers and 30% local or transient MAN customers. We also sold our first TGX Indivual Lion S. It joined a local carrier that had no MAN in its fleet. The results are therefore positive, even if profitability still requires 24 to 36 months. »
Sonotra: to reduce parasitic kilometers with MAN
Sonotra (La Rochelle, 17000) delivers fuel, powdered cement, cereals and fertilizers. His routes are between Bordeaux, Lorient, Orléans and Angoulême. Its director, Patrick Lorenzi, appreciates the opening of Truck 16 in Charente. “This new Workshop Center gives the MAN network of the Phelippeau group, which has supplied 40% of my fleet since 2004, a network that corresponds to my organization and my regional destinations. It secures my activity between La Rochelle and Limoges. It assures me of rapid interventions on the road. It also saves me the low parasitic kilometers during diversions for maintenance or the purchase of parts. It complements the Renault Trucks network, whose T models also make up 40% of my fleet,” says Patrick Lorenzi.

Identical services and prices
Quality of service and availability remain essential. “The proximity of dealer workshops thus reaches 8/10 on my value scale, notes Patrick Lorenzi. Indeed, I have deliveries to ensure without delay. In addition, Nego Trucks being computerized, each site knows the history of my MANs and applies the same rate. Finally, MAN and the Phelippeau group practice continuous training. This allows their mechanics to follow the evolution of the vehicles”, concludes Patrick Lorenzi.
