The Nissan Towstar EV is a rebadged Kangoo E-Tech. Like the French, this van offers 300 km of autonomy.
Nissan again offers an electric van. After the discontinuation of the e-NV200, here is the Townstar EV. This model is quite simply the Japanese version of the new Kangoo Van, the electric version of which has been available for a few weeks.
No surprise for the technical sheet, modeled on that of the French model. The engine develops 122 hp and has a maximum torque of 245 Nm. In the bowels hides a 45 kWh battery. Nissan promises like Renault autonomy with the WLTP cycle of 300 km. As standard, there is an alternating current load of 22 kW. As an option, Nissan will offer 80 kW direct current fast charging. It allows to find 150 km of autonomy in 25 minutes.
The battery does not compromise on the cargo space, which can vary from 3.3 to 4.9 m3. The van can thus carry two europallets. The payload ranges from 600 to 800 kg, the towing capacity can reach 1500 kg.
The Townstar is distinguished from the Kangoo by a specific face, with the addition here of a grille whose patterns recall those of the electric crossover Ariya. On board, the possibility of having digital instrumentation on a 10-inch screen brings a techno touch.
This Townstar can be loaded with modern equipment: 360° vision, ProPilot assisted driving assistance, blind spot monitoring, slot assistance, assistance to avoid trailer sway… For comfort, there is the heated steering wheel . This electric version receives a heat pump, which distributes the heat from the battery in the passenger compartment.
The model will benefit from a 5-year warranty. There will also be a guarantee of up to 70% of the original battery capacity for eight years.
