Even in the era of globalization of road transport, the choice of tires still varies from one country to another. While wide wheels for Super Single trailers are popular in many countries, heavier trailers require twin wheels. For example, in the Nordic countries, the heaviest permitted trailers reach 76 tons. For these heavy loads, Nokian Tires offers the new tire Nokian Tires Hakka Truck Trailer in size 275/70R22.5.
“We launched the Nokian Tires Hakka Truck Trailer range in summer 2021”noted Teppo Siltanen, product manager at Nokian Tyres. “ It has been particularly well received by people who transport dangerous, liquid or bulk goods in the most difficult road and weather conditions.”
The new size is for dual setups on the heaviest trailers. Its impressive lifespan, smooth ride and excellent grip continue the tradition of safe, durable and economical mileage provided by the premium Nokian Tires Hakka Truck tire range.

Nokian Tires Hakkapeliitta E2
Also new, the 275/70R22.5 size is primarily intended for Nordic and Alpine regions – where road conditions can suddenly become extreme.
“The new Nokian Tires Hakkapeliitta E2 is a drive axle tire for extreme winter conditions, such as in Norway and the Alps,” explains Teppo Siltanen. “If you’ve ever watched TV shows about rescue teams on icy roads, you know what I’m referring to – the cargo has to be delivered even if the winter is very harsh. »
Hakkapeliitta E2 is Nokian Tyres’ flagship winter tire offer for truck drive axles. It reduces the need for chains as it provides the optimum level of grip, longevity and durability as well as low rolling resistance.
Nokian Tires E-Truck Trailer XL
The Nokian Tires E-Truck product line is designed for safe and economical mileage on Central European roads – although it is also popular in the less severe Nordic conditions. There is now a new XL model which offers excellent load capacity for Super Single trailers.
“The new Nokian Tires E-Truck Trailer XL tire size 385/65R22.5 allows an axle load of up to 10 tons”explains Teppo Siltanen. “This means more efficient transport with larger loads. »
Ready for retreading
A standout feature of many Nokian Tires commercial tires is the availability of compatible Noktop retreads. With their identical directional tread pattern and highly controlled curing process, Noktop retreads offer properties very close to those of the original tyre.
