Nardone Automotive unveils its new creation, a restomod based on the Porsche 928, whose V8 has been increased to 400 horsepower. Only eight copies will be produced.
The restomod, you know? This is a practice that simply consists of transforming an old car to make it more modern. For this, several methods are used. Some companies are content to change a few parts under the hood, others install new equipment when still others go so far as to modernize the look, with a more contemporary design while retaining the general lines of the car. Not to mention the engine, which can also evolve, in order to be more powerful or even sometimes electric, by practicing a retrofit.
In short, there are many ways to do restomod. And the one offered by the Nardone Automotive company based in Aix-en-Provence is rather attractive. The firm, founded by Thierry Nardone, unveils its brand new creation, based on the Porsche 928. Only 60,000 copies were sold throughout its existence, the front-engined sports car was a real unloved, but is now back his letters of nobility. It must be said that the boss of the young company is a true lover of old cars. After three years of work, her very first creation is officially unveiled.
Only eight copies
At first glance, this Porsche 928 seems identical to the original version, which we already know well. And yet, a few small details betray the work of Nardone Automotive, starting with the LED lights. Dressed in a superb Champagne color, the sports car also benefits from slightly widened fenders, giving it an even sportier look. On board, the presentation is obviously modernized, with the arrival of a combined instrumentation mixing digital and analog, since we still find the needle tachometer, reminiscent of the 911. The current multimedia system Porsche PCCM also replaces the car’s original car radio.
Under its hood, this Porsche 928 has decided to upgrade its original 350 horsepower V8, so that it now develops no less than 400 horses. This is then associated with a six-speed manual transmission, while it also offers a limited-slip differential. A piloted suspension makes its appearance, while the axles have been reworked. Finally, the driver also benefits from electronic power steering, as well as larger and more efficient brakes.
Only eight copies of this Porsche 928 will be produced, from vehicles supplied by customers. It will then be necessary to count 480,000 € HT for the transformation.
