In Canada, hydrogen projects are making great strides. While Canadian Pacific is betting on the hydrogen train, the province of Quebec has decided to support hydrogen. Through an envelope of 15 million euros, the Quebec government intends to support innovation projects in the field. A concrete initiative included in the future Quebec hydrogen strategy which will be announced by the fall of 2021.
” Quebec has several assets to become a key player in the field of the production and use of green hydrogen thanks in particular to its large renewable energy production capacity. We must seize this opportunity to develop the required expertise, integrate this new form of energy into our energy ecosystem and thus position ourselves advantageously in the international green hydrogen sector. The transition to a lower carbon economy necessarily involves the transition to renewable energies such as green hydrogen explained Jonatan Julien, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.
