After losing 16 seconds overall on Saturday, Sébastien Ogier got off to the best possible start on this last day of competition. The Frenchman won ahead of Elfyn Evans and Kalle Rovanperä and won his 8th special of this Monte-Carlo Rally. Pierre-Louis Loubet remained very cautious in this first special of the day. The Ford driver had to do without a handbrake. The Frenchman wants to save his tires for the Power Stage (stage 18) and try to score a few points in the world championship. Thierry Neuville finished 4th in this special. The Belgian had no hybrid in this first stage of the day.
