Despite a very slight slowdown at the end of the year, the STEF group continued to grow, with revenue of 1.1367 billion euros in the 4e quarter, up 19.7% (+12.6% like-for-like). Overall, 2022 revenue reached 4.2642 billion euros, up 21.6% (+14.2% at constant scope).
A dynamic international activity for STEF
In France, the fresh segment recorded good momentum, despite the fall in tonnages, which was confirmed in the last quarter. Supermarkets activities are suffering from the inflationary context, and frozen foods, for their part, have been impacted by soaring electricity prices. On the other hand, the temperate dry food segment posted good growth, as did the out-of-home catering sector.
Internationally, Spain and Portugal posted excellent performances. The acquisitions of STEF in Switzerland and the United Kingdom also seem to be bearing fruit. On the other hand, Italy remains strongly impacted by the drop in food consumption.
Finally, on the maritime side, turnover increased after two difficult years. “As part of the allocation of the new maritime public service delegation between Corsica and the continent, which extends from 1er January 2023 to December 31, 2029, La Méridionale will now operate on two lines: Marseille-Ajaccio and Marseille-Porto-Vecchio. In addition, the company has appointed a new general manager whose mission is to build a new strategic plan, in particular for the international lines which remain below forecasts.specifies the STEF group in its press release.
On the strength of its growing overall results, the group says it is “confident in its ability to achieve the objectives of its new 2022-2026 strategic plan, called “Committed to a sustainable future”.
