The Stef group is directing its Moving Green energy transition project, launched in July 2021, towards the use of the exclusive B100. Motivated by the positive feedback from its Oleo100 trials since 2019, the group has signed an agreement with Saipol to supply B100 from the Saipol factories in Mériot (10400) and Grand Couronne (76530) for 700 of its tractors and carriers. .
The Oleo100 having obtained the Crit’Air1 sticker in April, the carrier will “transform its B100 equipment order forecasts into exclusive B100 orders from suppliers capable of providing the solution, declares the group. The objective is to gain access to certain ZFE-m and to the equipment over-depreciation system”.

27 B100 tanks for France
Stef’s commitment is justified. For the past three years, feedback from Rennes employees operating the B100 has been positive. “Drivers appreciated the Oleo100’s lack of odor and its environmental side,” reports the group. In operation, there are no more constraints than with diesel trucks because we are equipped with fuel stations and have the choice of using our own tanks or benefiting from the supply of those from Saipol.

Eventually, the group will have 27 B100 tanks spread across the country. “Finally, on the mechanical level, “no particular remark apart from an overconsumption of 8% and closer service intervals, but these additional costs fall within the domain of the acceptable. »
100,000 t of CO2 saved
In 2021, four Stef sites have already received thirty new Renault Trucks vehicles at the Oleo100. This manufacturer will remain the majority in the fleet. But Stef will call on other suppliers to “switch a third of its fleet to Oleo100 before 2025 and save 100,000 t of CO2, says Marc Vettard, Deputy CEO of Stef. The fight against climate change is a priority for the group. By selecting the Oleo100, we have chosen renewable energy produced on the territory. Its characteristics and its environmental, societal and economic advantages are fully in line with our approach to sustainability. »

Greening of subcontracting and energy mix
Committed to the EVcom and Fret21 programs aimed at greening subcontracting, Stef “wishes to play a key role with our stakeholders and lead them into the virtuous circle of the exclusive B100 to support the carbon footprint reduction ambitions of our clients. With B100, these reductions are estimated at – 60% in GHG emissions and up to – 80% in fine particle emissions. But the carrier will not be limited to biofuel. “Our fleet of tomorrow will be equipped with multiple energies and we have also selected BioNGV and electricity”, he reports.
