This is the moment that the Mercedes-Benz Trucks network in France looks forward to every year with the greatest impatience: the presentation of the “5 Star Service” plates. A network that waits for its plaque, its trophy. Because this program, launched in May 2014, aims to classify approved repairers in the tricolor network like a famous gastronomic guide. The more stars there are on this famous plaque displayed at the entrance to the lobby, the better the service offered to the customer – within a maximum of 5 stars.
The aim of this program is to challenge the 156 service points of the French network of the Mercedes-Benz and FUSO brands in order to continuously improve the service offered to customers. In this program, four categories – with ten criteria for each – are assessed: reception/management, workshop, spare parts trade and 24-hour service. All of this, controlled by an independent body, generates a final ranking of all the French workshops and also allows a trophy to be awarded by each of these four categories.
In addition to these four categories, there is a “Super Trophy”, which is put into play each year, and which therefore rotates throughout France! After a “virtual” awards ceremony last year, due to the pandemic, it was during the gala evening of the annual Convention of Mercedes-Benz Trucks France which took place over the past two days at the Palais des Congrès in Deauville that all of the trophies and plaques have been handed over to the lucky recipients.
Winner of the four categories and the “Super Trophy”
For this 2021 list, the winners of the four categories are therefore as follows:
- Reception & management: Etoile Pro – Sautron (44)
- Spare parts business: SPVI – Bayonne (64)
- Workshop: Ziegler Services – Bressuire (79)
- Service24: Covema – Charleville-Mézières (08)
The “Super Trophy” leaves the Alps and the SVI 74 distributor in Annecy (74) this year to land in the Aisne in Saint-Quentin at Gorrias Services. It will stay there for at least the whole of 2021.
Always more stars for a higher quality network
Of the 33 establishments awarded the first year in 2014 – the program had started in May – “all stars” combined, there are therefore, for the year 2021, 145 sites which receive a plaque. With a frank involvement of this network since 67 sites received this year a “5 Stars” plaque. To be compared to the 22 sites rewarded for this one in 2019 and to the 63 of last year! There are as many “4 Star” sites this year as the previous one with “only” 24 sites rewarded – compared to 53 in 2019. More than half of the French network is therefore now 4 or 5 stars! It should be noted that 26 sites obtained only one or two stars.
A very positive result for the French network of Mercedes-Benz Trucks France with a quality of service that has continued to improve since the launch of this program in 2014. A network that works well is also a network that treats its customers the best. An important point of the French policy of the star.
