Three years after its launch, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale is about to offer an unprecedented Speciale version. This is currently under development.
It has already been three years since Ferrari unveiled its SF90 Stradale, a plug-in hybrid supercar whose name refers to the 90th anniversary of the Scuderia Ferrari, founded in 1929. A name that also pays tribute to the 2019 Formula 1 Ferrari SF90 If it has been a while since the sports car was revealed to the general public at an event in Maranello, the Italian firm has not yet finished with it, even though it is currently working on the launch of other models, including electric ones. And for good reason, another version, even more extreme, is currently under development.
If we still know very little about him, our colleagues from Motor1 seem rather well informed. The latter indeed give us some details on this future variation, which should then take the name of Ferrari SF90 Stradale Speciale, although it is currently known under the code name F173VS. Much less glamorous. For the moment, difficult to know what this newcomer will look like, while it is still hidden under a thick camouflage, not allowing to see much of its style. Some changes will obviously be made to the design, with in particular more aerodynamic elements and undoubtedly enlarged air intakes.
Probably increasing power
At the rear, the Maranello supercar completes its look with a small spoiler, slightly different from the one found in the Assetto Fiorano pack. Again, the goal is to improve downforce at high speed. The rest of the design of the one which could also bear the name of Ferrari SF90 Stradale Competizione is still very mysterious, but it should however keep lines very close to the standard version. The interior has not been photographed, but there is no doubt that it should resume the presentation of the supercar that we already know, with probably some improvements in the seats.
As a reminder, the current Ferrari SF90 Stradale has a plug-in hybrid engine combining a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 and two electric motors, for a combined power of 1,000 horsepower. This is then sent to the wheels via a robotic 8-speed dual-clutch sequential gearbox. If no information has been revealed about the technical sheet of this new version, it is rumored that the mechanics would be slightly overhauled to gain even more power. But again, we will have to wait for the confirmation of the brand.
This should not happen immediately, while the presentation of this new version should not take place before the end of the year, for a launch in 2023.
