A few weeks after delivering its first FM Electric to Transports Thevenet, Volvo Trucks continues to deliver “zero emission” trucks. The Mauffrey group presents itself, in fact, as the first customer to acquire a Volvo FH Electric in France, on January 19th.
This 44 ton tractor has a flat spray tank of 39 m3 and will be used for the powder activity of Eqiom, a long-standing carrier customer in the Paris region. Equipped with 6 batteries with a total capacity of 540 kWh, the FH will make one of the daily shuttles between the Eqiom depot in Chelles (77) and the concrete plants (BPE) in Alfortville (94) and Tolbiac Paris XIII (75 ). Specific hydropneumatic equipment mounted on the tank will allow the unloading of cement on the two ready-mixed concrete sites.
Already owner of four electric Volvo FE, the Mauffrey group is continuing its energy transition initiated with the commissioning of the first gas tractor in France in 2012. Today, the transporter has the 3e largest tricolor fleet of gas vehicles, and also has biodiesel trucks. The family business intends to accelerate the conversion of its fleet during the year and plans to acquire new models favoring alternative fuels.

For Volvo Trucks, this delivery represents a symbolic milestone in its business strategy. For the record, the brand hopes that 50% of its sales will relate to electric trucks in 2030. Today, the Swedish manufacturer has six “zero emission” models in production, covering various applications (urban distribution, regional transport, garbage collection , etc.).
As a reminder, the mass production of these vehicles started in the fall and will gradually increase. Volvo FH, FM and FMX electric tractors are assembled at the Tuve plant in Gothenburg (Sweden).
“I am very proud of the path traveled with the Mauffrey group, an emblematic customer that we support in its decarbonization strategy through the delivery of several electric vehicles and in particular this first Volvo FH Electric in France. […] We share strong common values and I hope that Volvo Trucks will continue to support the Mauffrey group on new, innovative and ever more beneficial projects for the environment.“, declares Jerome Flassayerdirector of electromobility at Volvo Trucks France
