The announcement by the President of the Republic recognizes the contribution of the agricultural world to the energy transition: the B100 is an immediate and long-term solution for decarbonizing transport.
Indeed, the B100, produced in France, is a 100% renewable energy from French rapeseed and intended for professional fleets. In addition, its development promotes food sovereignty through the co-production of vegetable proteins: 1 liter of B100 is accompanied by the co-production of 1.7 kilos of rapeseed meal.
As part of the French energy mix, the B100 meets the needs of transport professionals since it concerns heavy vehicles (trucks, buses, coaches, dumpsters, machinery and trains) by making it possible to reduce polluting emissions while completely replacing fossil fuels.
For Arnaud Rousseau, president of the FOP: “ All of the players in the French vegetable oils and proteins sector are delighted to have obtained the Crit’air1 sticker for B100, a 100% vegetable fuel. This decision concretizes the key role of the agricultural world in meeting together the challenge of food and energy sovereignty, thanks to the co-production of new energies, in particular from 100% French rapeseed and vegetable proteins for human and animal food. . Issues that are all the more essential in the current period. »
For Antoine Henrion, President of Terres Univia, “ this announcement strengthens our ability to produce and value our oilseed plants, which generate oils and proteins, thus improving our food sovereignty. »
For Gilles Robillard, president of Terres Inovia, “ this decision reinforces the technical institute’s commitment to continue to produce the innovations and references needed by French oilseed producers and processors. Innovation contributes very significantly to the development of cultures essential to our country both economically and environmentally.”
