From April 1, 2022 and until July 31, 2022, a discount of 15 cents excluding tax is applied at the pump on fuel. While this measure will probably be extended until August 31, 2022, the Minister of Economy, Finance and Industrial Sovereignty, Bruno LE MAIRE, is considering an extension until the end of the year, if economic conditions allow it. require. The Professional Organizations of the sector point out that the liter of diesel without discount was on average at 2€ at the end of March and that it fluctuates today around 2.15€ with discount. The situation has therefore worsened and road transport companies are having the greatest difficulty in passing on these new increases to their customers. It is therefore necessary to perpetuate this support system for road hauliers.
This new, highly degraded situation not only means that the discount at the pump must also be maintained, but also requires its reinforcement by doubling the amount of the discount, the upward trend in fuel prices justifying it.
In the event that the Government chooses to change the aid by reserving it for “large wheeler individuals”the Professional Organizations demand that this measure be imperatively extended to “big wheel professionals” by the payment of a rebate per liter of fuel managed by the Tax Administration, through the application of a monthly reimbursement system based on the liters purchased during the previous month.
With regard to road passenger transport, contracts and public procurement must be urgently adapted and provide for compensation for companies which have borne the additional costs of energy prices alone since September 2021, without possible repercussions.
The Professional Organizations are ready to work out the terms of the future system with the Government.
