The Sterne Group, the specialist in tailor-made and urgent transport, is setting up in Corbas. This new site brings together the activities of the Sterne Group (Sterne Regular, Sterne Care, Sterne Time Critical) in the region. It represents a new stage in the pooling of companies acquired by the Group. Construction work on this new branch will begin in early April.
This establishment is part of the continuity of the development of the activities of Sterne Regular, initiated 4 years ago.
Today, these two entities of the Sterne Group, respectively located in the North-East and South-East of the outskirts of Lyon, pool together in order to group all activities on a single site. This strategic location allows them to benefit from proximity to the immediate outskirts of Lyon and privileged access to the main national highways.
Located on a plot of nearly 28,000 m², the establishment of this new site presents an enlarged space, now with a total area of + 10,000 m² of sorting and storage cell and approximately 1,800 m² of offices. This +50% increase in storage and sorting capacity compared to the capacity of current agencies, therefore makes it possible to integrate 13 heavy goods vehicle docks and 25 light vehicle doors. In accordance with the Sterne Group’s CSR commitments, the building meets the latest environmental standards in force: ISO14001 standards, Breem Very Good certificate. The agency is thus able to welcome new “green” vehicles (electric, CNG, etc.) within its fleet. The building has also been particularly designed to make the quality of life at work for the 90 jobs planned on the site and that of the many local partners as pleasant as possible.
New spaces are also planned to optimize and facilitate logistics flows. This includes the integration of a multi-service platform aimed at providing a true “mail processing journey”: decentralized mail rooms, mail scanning preparation rooms, incoming mail and document scanning rooms, and a massification/franking of outgoing mail.
The construction of this agency also materializes the Group’s ambition to be the key player in the Aftermarket market with the Premium Access Desk, Access Car and Access Direct service offers. In addition, the Corbas site will have the capacity to develop new services such as the cross-dock service, which provides storage and supply of pallets to branches. Thanks to this new tool, the Sterne Group is giving itself the means to meet the needs of its local, national and international customers as closely as possible.
