As Bugatti begins deliveries of its new Centodieci, the first copy sounds like a vibrant tribute to the original EB110.
We have known about the Bugatti Centodieci for some time now. And for good reason, the Molsheim brand’s supercar was officially revealed in August 2019, a little less than three years ago, during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. A newcomer to the range which obviously did not fail to turn heads and spill a lot of ink: in addition to its look, the tricolor sports car struck by its exclusivity, while only ten copies would be manufactured in total. Not one more. All for a unit price set at eight million euros.
But three years after its presentation, the supercar seemed to have fallen into oblivion, giving no further news. But now she is finally talking about her, while Bugatti has just announced the start of deliveries to the first customers. A real event for the brand, especially since each copy is made by hand, in the workshops of Molsheim, in Alsace. After a long test phase in extreme conditions ranging from -20 to +45 degrees, the French supercar is finally ready to be received by happy (and very rich) customers.
A tribute copy
As we know, this Bugatti Centodieci sounds like a vibrant tribute to the mythical EB110, produced in only 139 copies between 1991 and 1995. But if the supercar is inspired by the iconic sports car by its lines, especially at the front end, one client wanted to go a little further. This is how the very first copies of the new creation of the tricolor brand to leave the factory displays an even more undeniable family resemblance with its predecessor. Indeed, it notably takes up the famous color “EB110 Blue”. An iconic color, which is that of the EB110 during its presentation, but not only.
Indeed, blue is also the color of the Campogalliano factory, nicknamed the “Fabrica Blu”. Suffice to say that this shade has a particular resonance for the brand. But the tribute to the original sports car does not stop there, since the Centodieci which is about to join its owner is also equipped with rims painted in gray EB110 Sport Silver, a color identical to that of the wheels of its ancestor. On board, the winks are numerous, with in particular the quilted pattern found on the central console, the floor mats or the seats.
